Wrestling With Human Nature
For those of us who seek God, we constantly look for a perfect journey towards the Paradise promised to us, once we have decided to take that path. The truth of the matter is that this path will prove to be a tortuous and winding path. In fact the more we seek God, and the more we transform in His Unconditional Love….the more difficult the journey becomes. Why you may ask? Well it is for the following 2 REASONS:
1. If you remember the story of the Prophet Job, he was tested severely. This is to test his faith. To make sure that his faith existed not only within the good times, but also within the rought portions of his life. We have often heard the term “REFINER’s FIRE”. This is what God means. Putting our faith to the test, to make sure it is genuine.
2. Once we’ve passed a series of tests, well, to be quite frank, the Devil is getting angry that you are not being thrown off the path. In fact, he wants to take you away from God. He is so angry that God kicked him out of Heaven, that he doesn’t want anyone else to experience what he can not have anymore. So, he also will try everything he can to take you off that path
So, we must remember that upon the introduction of sin by the Devil, in the Garden of Eden, we were made to fight our sinful human nature; and the direct path to God that we once had, was destroyed upon that introduction to sin. Jesus Christ was sent down from Heaven Above, in order to reestablish that pathway back to the Father of Creation, once again. So, He came to live amongst us, to show us how God expects us to live our lives. What people often misunderstand about Jesus’ life is that it is not the physical acts that He necessarily referred to, as to how to please God. It was the intention of the human heart. There has to be a complete transformation of the heart, which is rooted in God’s Unconditional Love. That is something that can only be accomplished through faith. And faith is a GIFT from God. It is not something that can be faked; or even imitated. God sees right through all of that.
This is why Jesus had chosen disciples from all different walks of life, to be His Messengers of the Gospels that he spoke of. That is why Jesus forgave those who were considered criminals by manmade laws or were dislike by manmade’s rules to society. Because it was by their faith in seeking God, and believing that He was a gateway to God for them, that made their belief pure, as well as their intention. The believed that they could make themselves better by coming to Him to seek for the answer. Jesus said, “I did not come here to become the physician for those that are already spiritually healthy; but for those that are lost and spiritual unhealthy.” I look at this statement and think of my own ministry. We are there to provide HOPE and LOVE to those who got lost in this world, that is running rampant with evil and its philosophies. Not to condemn them for not believing. Not to condemn other believers for not believing in the same things that we do. Jesus did not do that. And as CHRIST-ians, we should also not do that.
Fighing with human nature is one of the hardest battles in the spiritual realm. Especially since God gave us free will to choose. We can fall off the path, but we should also CHOOSE, that when we do, that we get back on. Not to just dismiss the fact that we fell off all together. Or to continue on the destructive path. God is a merciful God. That is why He sent Jesus down to die on the Cross, to rebuild that pathway that Satan destroyed. He didn’t want to loose us. He, till this very day, gives us till the last breath in our earthly bodies to make that transformation of the heart. He is not a dictator or a misunderstander, as to how Satan would like for us to believe. God created ALL. What is there to misunderstand? You can not hide the intentions of the heart from God, He created that heart within you. He sees it all. He just gets saddened when we CHOOSE wrongly.
He never demands to BOW DOWN before Him. He gives you that choice. He does not demand that you serve Him in exchange for the Unconditional Love that He shares with us EVERYDAY. He allows for you to CHOOSE with your human nature and free will, to serve Him. That Love comes free everyday. But for the destruction that Satan caused, it was given at the High Cost of Jesus dying on the Cross. Jesus gave that to us FREEELY. He took our place, in dying on the Cross, to give us the chance of setting ourselves free from the slavery the Satan put us in, upon the introduction of sinning against God, in the Garden of Eden.
We have the choice…..so which do you choose today?
