This particular song spoke to me, especially in recent times, based on the truth it speaks. We often forget of the Omnipresent God, whose Love is always there for us to grab hold to, with His Arms wide open. Instead, in our everyday lives, we seek the comforts of this world, to which God says that He is not a part of its ways. He has shown us in so many ways as to how much He shows His Love to us. From waking up to another day to live;to the love of a pet. Or even the flowers and their radiant beauty in the meadows; to the birds that fly in the sky. We keep choosing to put our faith in the temporary things of this world; and putting faith in man who is flawed by its human nature. If we put our faith in a Perfect God, with His Love that is so abundant and merciful, we will no longer “choose the gallows to the aisle”. Through the Death and Resurrection of Jesus Christ, we were given the choice to walk down the aisle to God’s Eternal Paradise; or to the gallows of Eternal Damnation. We can not rely on our own logic and understanding, for it is weak. This is exactly what this song is saying. So we must constantly be in communication with God, so that we can discern the deception that evil is constantly trying to throw at us, so that we fall prey to our sinful, weak human nature. God will help us through His Endless Love to know what will give us victory, to enter His Eternal Paradise.
Sometimes I believe people focus to much on the “words on the pages” of the Bible. What I mean by this is that they focus on memorizing, just “knowing” that it exists. We must focus on the content, what was it telling us. More importantly what was it showing us, in what God expects of us. Jesus Christ showed us through His LIfe and Teachings, what is required to conquer Evil. He showed us that LIVING God’s Words is what is required of us. As human beings, upon the introduction of Temptation and Sin, we are very weak to go astray from what God expects of us. Hence resulting in the chaos that we see in the world today. The Book of Revelations in the Holy Bible, reveals that we are to continue with living in God’s Ways, even when it seems there are very few people around us that have the knowledge in how to do so.
This is what Jesus Christ demonstrated with His Life, Death, and Resurrection. Through His Life, Jesus taught God’s expectations of us; showed how to conquer the temptations of Satan and his evil through prayer and resistance; and that God’s Ways of Living, in Love, does not conform to the ways of this world. In fact, His Life shows us that we can serve God with just the things we were born with, our minds, bodies, and soul. We can not use EARTHLY WEAPONS for a SPIRITUAL WAR. We have to use SPIRITUAL WEAPONS, which is what Jesus Christ showed with His Life and Death. His Death, was the ultimate trial, in fulfilling God’s Plan for Him. Could ANY MAN have done what He did? ABSOLUTELY NO. Man would have wimped out….because that is how weak in the flesh we are to fear. But Jesus showed us, that with putting God in control, it is possible. Jesus showed, that we must continue giving, if it means to the point of death of our human bodies, to LIVING God’s Words. In a previous entry of mine on this blog, I had referred to the Book of Revelations, Chapter 2; where God ask us, are we willing to uphold HIs Gospel to the point of death? When we have truly been enlightened by the ONE TRUTH; fro the ONE TRUE God….we will begin to see what the true value of things really are, in this world. And we will see that there is nothing in comparison to the value of what God’s Eternal Paradise, has to offer us. Which is what Jesus demonstrated in His Resurrection into Heaven. We must give…keep giving….
What is the point in saving, when your family members or neighbors are starving and homeless? What is the point in having power, if you can help those who are helpless? What is the point in loving only those that love you back, when once someone DECIDED to love you, as a perfect stranger; or to forgive you when you did something wrong? What is the point in having closets full of clothes, when you neighbor has only 1 pair of clothes to wear? And for a God that says that He is not of the ways of this world, but BEYOND them; what is the point in donating to charities, when you don’t invest you heart o the people you are helping with that money…..for a tax right off? For earthly recognition? God says, if that is what you seek, then your recognition will remain at that point, and that HE WILL NOT RECOGNIZE you, when you come knocking at His Door.
Once we recognize the true value of the things of this world, we will know what Jesus meant through His Teachings…it will become a part of us to the point that it is how we live and breath. When we do this, we encounter the resistance, the trials of this world, which make us die in the earthly sense, but become MORE ALIVE in the spiritual sense. The enlightenment of God’s Love and Words, will become more clearer. And the death of the human body, as many of those of our Brothers and Sisters, in all of the 4 corners of the world are enduring, will seem trivial in comparison to what God has promised us. In fact a life that is free from trials, is a life that is not threatening Evil; but a life that is conforming to it. And a life that is full of trials and challenges, is a life that is resisting evil, and fighting to get one step closer to the Creator.
God, through Jesus Christ, His Son, showed us that He loved us so much as to give His Son to save Mankind from being in the Hands of Evil. He loved us so much as to take on our sins, as His Own. To take on our punishment for falling astray from God, and falling for Evil’s Temptations, AS HIS OWN. We have to give…keep giving….
I think the Father Up Above, has made it very clear, in the Book of Revelations, that He alone can pass judgement. And this is based on what he is able to have access to, and what we do not have access to, in order to have that authority to pass judgement onto others.
In Johns; Book of Revelations 2:23, God revealed to Him:
“And I will kill her children with pestilences and all churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of your according to your deeds.”
We must keep in mind that when we walk on this path, that we call “life”, we can only hold ourselves accountable to the things we say, do , and think. And God will expect that of us. We can not change others in these aspects; only God can. In the end, however, God will ask us, as individuals, for all the things we did, while living on this earth, and see if we followed His Ways, and understood His Word.
So remember, judgement is not ours, but God’s alone. God gives each of us a window to peak in to His Widsom, through the lessons we learn in our life paths.
If we look through out the history of those that have changed Mankind, in a way of Nonviolence, Love, and Spiritual Enlightenment, what do they all have in common? A life that is devoid in valuing the things of this world. In fact they went as far as spinning their own clothes, or to living a life of a nomad. Living a life, where they are not ID’ed by their profession or wealth. Simply known for the love that they shared and preached to others. They were known for putting others before themselves, by letting their hearts to be seen boldly.
In the Bible it states, that in the end of times, the once acceptable will become unacceptable; and the once unacceptable will become acceptable. God says in the Book of Revelations that those that believe in Him, and His Ways to Righteousness, will be persecuted, even to the point of death. Isn’t that what Jesus Christ showed us with His Own Life and Death? So not only did Jesus teach us about what God expects of us, while we have this time on the earth; but He SHOWED us with His Life, that it is not an easy path to travel on. For God’s Ways no longer rule this earth. It is that of evil that does…and God Ways are above and beyond the world’s ways. His Blessings and Rewards are nothing in comparison to that of anything that this world can offer you. But you have to see this. You have to believe this. To the point, as Jesus showed us on the Cross, of death. His 12 apostles understood this, which is why they spread the truth of God’s Gospel, as Jesus taught them, knowing that they will be resisted, persecuted, and ridiculed. But did it anyway. So, let me ask you, brothers and sisters, how is your faith these days? This way is not meant for the few, but by all. The question is, how many of us will choose to do so….
By coming down to live amongst us, Jesus Christ, the Living God, knew He was born to die, in order to save all of Mankind from Evil’s Wrath. As a Living God, He could have came in the form of an earthly King, with all the riches of the earth. He could have died a noble death, full of honor and glory. BUT HE DIDN’T. This is the extent God went through to show you that the things that are considered RICH or of HIGH VALUE in this world, ARE NOT in His Kingdom. This is the extent God went through to show us that the things of this world that are POOR or considered LOW in VALUE; ARE of great value in the Kingdom of Heaven. God does not define His Ways that are of this world; but of the Kingdom Up Above. So why do we, as human beings, keep looking…saying…that earthly rewards, which are temporary in nature, are God’s Blessings? His rewards are permanent, and eternal.
The Prophet Job’s story is also a great one. He is a man that had it all in the earthly sense; and at the same time, was faithful to God. And when everything was taken away from him, his faith was tested. Our faith in God should surpass everything, even our own selves. Evil will try to manipulate everything of the human condition and body, in order to take you away from the greatness that God created for you to be; in His Image, as His Child in Heaven. And we can not conquer this with our own human strength; this is how Adam and Eve fell to sin and temptation, in the Garden of Eden. This can only be conquered through how much God’s Gospels are rooted within our hearts and souls. Evil will say that it can give you all the fame, fortune, and wealth on this earth; however, once you attain such things, you have no choice but to serve it. God says that He will allow for you to make the choice to choose His Ways or those of the Evil One. And those are endless, while you are alive on this earth. God says He will give you till the last breath of your earthly body, to make the right choice; and even if you once made the choice and strayed away, you have the choice of coming back.
God also did say that because His Ways are not of this world that this world, and the evil that runs it, will persecute those that decide to follow Him. Isn’t that what Jesus Christ showed with His Own Life? That the ways of this world will ridicule you for what you believe in accordance to God’s Ways, because the “once acceptable, are now unacceptable.” Prosperity on this earth is all temporary. It can be taken away with one swipe of God’s Hand. But things that came by way of God Himself, will be everlasting.
As we get closer to the end of times, we see so much turmoil in this world. Have we become closer to God; or further away from Him? Have we forgotten Him; and think of ourselves at the same level as Him….How can a creation be at the same level as the Creator? Whether we believe in God or not, there will come a day where we will all have to answer to Him…for all the things we did in our lifetimes. This is why Jesus said, to repent…and to throw all of your burdens and cares unto Him…and He will give you rest.
It is clearly stated in the Holy Bible, “Who is first on this earth, will be last in my Kingdom; and whomever is last on this earth, will be first in my Kingdom.”
Do not compromise God’s Eternal Paradise, for the sake of temporary prosperity on this earth; but go through the persecution of this earth, to receive God’s eternal prosperity.
“Love is a mighty power, a great and complete good; Love alone lightens every burden, and makes the rough places smooth. It bears every hardship as though it were nothing, and renders all bitterness sweet and acceptable. The love of Jesus is noble, and inspires us to great deeds; it moves us always to desire perfection. Love aspires to high things, and is held back by nothing base. Love longs to be free, a stranger to every worldly desire, lest its inner vision become dimmed, and lest worldly self-interest hinder it or ill-fortune cast it down. Nothing is sweeter than love, nothing stronger, nothing higher, nothing wider, nothing more pleasant, nothing fuller or better in heaven or earth; for love is born of God, and can rest only in God, above all created things. Love flies, run, and leaps with joy; it is free and unrestrained. Love gives all for all, resting in the One who flows and proceeds. Love does not regard the gifts but turns to the Giver of all good gifts. Love knows no limits, but ardently transcends all bounds. Love feels no burden, takes no account of toil, attempts things beyond its strength; love sees nothing as impossible, for it feels able to achieve all things. Love therefore does great things; it is strange and effective; while he who lacks love faints and fails.”
3 Surely he will save you
from the fowler’s snare
and from the deadly pestilence.
4 He will cover you with his feathers,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
5 You will not fear the terror of night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
6 nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
nor the plague that destroys at midday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
8 You will only observe with your eyes
and see the punishment of the wicked.
9 If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
you will trample the great lion and the serpent.
14 “Because he[b] loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble,
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
Though many of us will find comfort in this thought, what does it truly mean? I actually sat and meditated on this thought. It is repeatedly stated through out the Bible. So what does this mean? Some may interpret this as, “There is no need to change, because God sees my intention.” Well this is only true, to a certain extent, at least to me. We should constantly be in tune of what God expects of us. That is what Jesus taught us through His Life, and even Death on the Cross. We should always come to Him first, as to what His Will for our lives are. There is no use in fighting it, because it is what is ultimately done.
However, when it comes the conditions of the heart, to which only God sees, this requires a constant refining, to what God expects of us. A heart grounded in God’s Unconditional Love, will always feel when it is not doing something that is in line with God’s Laws. A heart that is in constant communion with God and His Ways, will always follow whereever God takes them. This will be a heart pleasing to God. The intentions of the heart will always want to love others, more than themself. It does not stand for anything of the SELF. Is that not Jesus demonstrated with His Own Life? He died on the Cross, for the sake of unshackling ALL OF MANKIND from evil.
A hear that is pleasing to God is a heart that yearns to do God’s Work, to seek how to Love, as Jesus did. Love unconditionally. To love in ways that do not violate God’s Divine Laws of Love. A heart that feels the moment that it does so, to want to fix it, and make it right in front of God. A heart that is not afraid to love. A heart that is not afraid to go against the earthly ways that are not in accordance to God’s Divine Laws of Love. This kind of heart is confident in its stand, because it always honors God. The same kind of fearlessness that Jesus displayed at the Cross. The same kind of fearlessness that Jesus demonstrated by preaching God’s Words to everyone that He encountered.
So a heart that is pleasing in God’s Eyes, requires to battle the things of this world. It needs to constantly be tested, to break away from the ways of this world. It needs to be refined, and polished, just as a diamond in the rough is, to become polished and shining in God’s Eyes.
It is not an easy path, but a path that must be taken.
