Gut Feelings = God’s Nudgings/Guidance

psalm 115

Think about every time you had a “gut feeling“, with a particular situation that you were trying to make a decision. Did you follow your gut feeling? Or did you go against it based on rationalizing and intellectualizing the direction towards which your gut was telling you to go? Now think about how many times was it wrong?

When I think of the questions above, I had come to the conclusion that you see with the title of this entry. As I look back on various scenarios and situations in my life, I see that about 99.99999999999% of the time, my gut feelings were CORRECT. Have I always followed them….. NO! This is where “knowledge” can cripple us in following God‘s Will of our lives. Does God’s Divine Logic follow the ways of this world? Does it stay within the boundaries of Human Logic? When has the creation known more or just as much as the Creator? And how does one know that the logic and knowledge that was used to rationalize or intellectualize the gut feeling, was guided from a Divine Source, or from somewhere else? These are all valid things to consider.

However, when one has a relationship with the Creator, that gut feeling that you receive is more in tune with the Will of God. One of the hardest things for any human being to do is to give in to listening to God’s Call or Will of one’s life. It requires, completely letting go, and letting God to take over and steer your life path. How many of us can let go of the reigns of our lives, to an Unseen God? We often like to see, hear, and feel evidence and proof for what we say and do, on this earth. But being able to do this, is where true strength lies, and God’s Rewards in doing so, will surpass anything that this world can offer.  No matter how many times, we as human beings THINK we are steering our own life paths, or destinies, in the end, it is GOD’s WILL of our lives, of this earth, that is ultimately done, based on how we used the freewill he has given us. God truly is an omnipresent being. I have seen evidence of this throughout my life. He also does say that HIS WAYS do not conform to the world’s ways; but ways that are more Divine, and beyond what this world can rationalize and intellectualize.

So how do we tackle the “letting go, and leaving it up to God” situation? Think about it, with anyone that we trust, we so easily entrust our lives, and even in some cases, family to, right? So if we claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, as the Son of God; or for that matter, being God’s Children, should we not do the same, with God? Even in the “Lord’s Prayer“, explained by Jesus Christ as the only prayer needed in one’s life, that explains it ALL , He states within it, “Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come; Thy Will be done….on earth, as it is in Heaven.” Just analyze this for a moment. These are such powerful words.  This is why it is so important to communication with the Father of Creation, everyday. From the first thought of when you wake up each day, to the last thought of when you go to sleep. So that He can guide you for “His Will to be done”. It takes immense strength to give in to God’s Will. It requires to risk giving up all human logic, to follow a Divine Logic, which does not bound itself the earthly realm. It does not require magic or special power to do so. Because we were all created by God, it is innately within all of us. God sees each one of us, equal in His Eyes, giving us different Purposes and life circumstances to achieve, His Will of our lives. But nonetheless, because we are all equal in His Eyes, He has given us all FREEWILL. And with this gift, that He has only given MANKIND, out of all of HIs Creations, we are to tap into His Connection within us, that was innately put in at the time we were conceived in our mother’s wombs; or not to. But does this necessarily equate to having earthly successful lives? As Mother Teresa has once said, “God didn’t call us to be successful; but to be faithful. The fighter, like our Master (Jesus Christ), is pierced and full of pain. He, like Paul, may be bound and beaten, but he remains.” God says, and provides evidence through the Life of Jesus Christ, His Son, and many of the Prophets that He has sent, that HIS WAYS DO NOT CONFORM TO THE WAYS OF THIS WORLD. So why would His Rewards and Blessings conform to the ways of this world? The “blessings” we see; or the earthly rewards we view on our lives, are the life circumstances given to you as God’s Will of your life. At the same time, the trials we face, and the challenges we face, are a part of refining our faith, and bringing us back to our Will for our lives, by God. We have proven over and over again, as human beings that we stray away from God, especially when things seem to be going “right” in the earthly sense. So this is when God’s People may face certain challenges or trials to be reminded of God’s Existence. We always have the CHOICE TO USE OUR FREEWILL TO CHOOSE whether we listen for God’s solution for the situation, or to Evil’s Ways. This will be a lifelong journey.

So coming back to the Title of this entry.

I’m sure all of us would agree that our gut feelings were right 9 out of 10 times, right? Are these gut feelings based on earthly evidence or just a feeling inside? In fact the very reason that many do not follow their gut instincts, is because the option to which it is pointing to, is often beyond logic of the circumstances, right? GOD SAYS HE IS BEYOND THE WORLD’s WAYS; and that HIS WILL IS ALWAYS DONE. So to follow God’s Will of our lives, we must be in tune with God. What does this require? A daily communication with God. And even what does this require? It doesn’t require ceremonies or anything per say. It just requires you to remain in His Holy Words in the Holy Books. Spending time to listen for His Guidance in what He revealed to us in them. And even to at least 1 or 2 minutes, in complete concentration in talking with Him. That’s what it requires.

Conflict between Mankind and God: The Human Mind (PART I)

mapping of the brain

The Human Mind is not only the most important organ in the body; but also out of all organs, the least known about. It is considered the center for all human functioning. It is the first organ system to develop in the human body, during human developmental stages, inside a mother’s womb; and the final organ whose functioning determines the quality of life for a human being.

Outside of the biological functioning of the Human Mind; the state of mind of a person is really what I am going to focus on, in this entry. This is usually determined or even molded based on our life experiences; and to some extent, even genetics. However, genetic predisposition on personalities, are constantly being debated in the medical world. Me, personally, I think the environment still can trump such things. Human nature is very resilient in that way. Just see how a child constantly adjusts to his/her environment. See how animals in the wild constantly adjust to their surroundings. God’s Creations have that power to adjust, and overcome.

Life experiences include daily life occurences, as well as home grooming, and education background. And even the outlook of how to examine life experiences really has to do with how you examine or evaluate life experiences. Perspective, if you will. Perspective often comes from having a belief system, to direct the evaluation of such things. In the end, God has implanted His Codes of Conduct, and even a sense of belonging…no matter what path we take on this earth. This has been proven over and over again; from the deep villages in the jungles of this world, to the biggest cities…people always tap into what God has put within each of us, since the time we were conceived in our mother’s wombs. What causes the differences in outcomes of life circumstances? Well, very simple. Whether we listen for those nudgings from God; or what others may like to call, “gut feelings”. We like to use our flawed human logic for things.YES, I SAID IT! FLAWED HUMAN LOGIC. Now I myself, come from a science background, and I could tell you, that even the greatest of scientists have found limitations in their search in trying to explain everything, with their scientific findings. Sure, to every experiment there are many HYPOTHESES; but few become THEORIES, becoming the SOLE explanation for something.

I mean GOD THOUGHT OF EVERYTHING! That is how amazing God is. It’s like He put a safety lock for us, on everything that evil would try to manipulate, in taking us away from Him. The problem is by giving us the choice to choose to tap into these safeties, many of us keep making the WRONG choice in His Eyes. He gave us all of the tools, and information needed to make the RIGHT choice, but we just decide to not to listen or learn from them. I can not stress more, the importance of the 7 DEADLY SINS.

1. Greed
2. Gluttony
3. Lust
4. Pride
5. Sloth
6. Wrath
7. Envy

These 7 things are what is causing the downfall of Mankind. We all are guilty of commiting them. But how many of us, think twice, in preventing becoming a 2nd or 3rd time offender? I think out of all of these, there is ONE that trumps them all, and gives rise to the other 6….PRIDE. Pride is what made Lucifer into Satan…which led to him being kicked out of Heaven by the Father of Creation; and his envy of God’s Love for Mankind, and for never being able to step foot back into Eternal Paradise, led to his wrath in leading as many souls away from God. This is the SPIRITUAL WARFARE that we are all a part of.

God's Will

Wrestling With Human Nature

Lucifer being casted out of Heaven

For those of us who seek God, we constantly look for a perfect journey towards the Paradise promised to us, once we have decided to take that path.  The truth of the matter is that this path will prove to be a tortuous and winding path.  In fact the more we seek God, and the more we transform in His Unconditional Love….the more difficult the journey becomes.  Why you may ask?  Well it is for the following 2 REASONS:

1.  If you remember the story of the Prophet Job, he was tested severely.  This is to test his faith.  To make sure that his faith existed not only within the good times, but also within the rought portions of his life.  We have often heard the term “REFINER’s FIRE”.  This is what God means.  Putting our faith to the test, to make sure it is genuine.

2.  Once we’ve passed a series of tests, well, to be quite frank, the Devil is getting angry that you are not being thrown off the path.  In fact, he wants to take you away from God.  He is so angry that God kicked him out of Heaven, that he doesn’t want anyone else to experience what he can not have anymore.  So, he also will try everything he can to take you off that path

So, we must remember that upon the introduction of sin by the Devil, in the Garden of Eden, we were made to fight our sinful human nature; and the direct path to God that we once had, was destroyed upon that introduction to sin.  Jesus Christ was sent down from Heaven Above, in order to reestablish that pathway back to the Father of Creation, once again.  So, He came to live amongst us, to show us how God expects us to live our lives.  What people often misunderstand about Jesus’ life is that it is not the physical acts that He necessarily referred to, as to how to please God.  It was the intention of the human heart.  There has to be a complete transformation of the heart, which is rooted in God’s Unconditional Love.  That is something that can only be accomplished through faith.  And faith is a GIFT from God.  It is not something that can be faked; or even imitated.  God sees right through all of that.

This is why Jesus had chosen disciples from all different walks of life, to be His Messengers of the Gospels that he spoke of.  That is why Jesus forgave those who were considered criminals by manmade laws or were dislike by manmade’s rules to society.  Because it was by their faith in seeking God, and believing that He was a gateway to God for them, that made their belief pure, as well as their intention.  The believed that they could make themselves better by coming to Him to seek for the answer.  Jesus said, “I did not come here to become the physician for those that are already spiritually healthy; but for those that are lost and spiritual unhealthy.”  I look at this statement and think of my own ministry.  We are there to provide HOPE and LOVE to those who got lost in this world, that is running rampant with evil and its philosophies.  Not to condemn them for not believing.  Not to condemn other believers for not believing in the same things that we do.  Jesus did not do that.  And as CHRIST-ians, we should also not do that.

Fighing with human nature is one of the hardest battles in the spiritual realm.  Especially since God gave us free will to choose.  We can fall off the path, but we should also CHOOSE, that when we do, that we get back on.  Not to just dismiss the fact that we fell off all together.  Or to continue on the destructive path.  God is a merciful God.  That is why He sent Jesus down to die on the Cross, to rebuild that pathway that Satan destroyed.  He didn’t want to loose us.  He, till this very day, gives us till the last breath in our earthly bodies to make that transformation of the heart.  He is not a dictator or a misunderstander, as to how Satan would like for us to believe.  God created ALL.  What is there to misunderstand? You can not hide the intentions of the heart from God, He created that heart within you.  He sees it all.  He just gets saddened when we CHOOSE wrongly.

He never demands to BOW DOWN before Him. He gives you that choice.  He does not demand that you serve Him in exchange for the Unconditional Love that He shares with us EVERYDAY.  He allows for you to CHOOSE with your human nature and free will, to serve Him.  That Love comes free everyday.  But for the destruction that Satan caused, it was given at the High Cost of Jesus dying on the Cross.  Jesus gave that to us FREEELY.  He took our place, in dying on the Cross, to give us the chance of setting ourselves free from the slavery the Satan put us in, upon the introduction of sinning against God, in the Garden of Eden.

We have the choice…..so which do you choose today?
