“Money is the Root of All Evil….”

“If anyone teaches a different doctrine and does not agree with the soundwords of our Lord Jesus Christ and the teaching that accords with godliness,he is puffed up with conceit and understands nothing. He has an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words, which produce envy, dissension, slander, evil suspicions, and constant friction among people who are depraved in mind and deprived of the truth, imagining that godliness is a means of gain. But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, andwe cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.”

-1 Timothy 6:2-10 (ESV)

Many have corrected it to emphasize “The LOVE of money”. Here is the truth behind this. With this wording, we tend to restrict the meaning of this verse to GREED. But it does not stop there. It is the LOVE of the SELF, to obtain earthly riches. There are many life circumstances that have led to evil things, and for sins to be committed. I sincerely believe if money or any earthly riches, are the focus of an act or a goal of a plan, that is a coveting or love of money, or earthly riches.

We have to remember a few things that God has said:

1. God says His Ways are not of the world’s ways, but beyond them.

2. He provides SUFFICIENTLY for our needs. If He provides for the birds in the sky; and for the lilies in the valley, would He not provide for us, as Man?

3. In all we do, we must keep God’s Commandments in mind, as to how we conduct ourselves.

4.  As Jesus Christ demonstrated through His Own Life, Teachings, Death, and Resurrection, that we must uphold God’s Laws of Divine Love, at all costs.

In society today, we see a great divide in wealth. AGREED. So let us study this for a moment.

There are people who have gained their wealth through unjust means. Mahatma Gandhi said it best in the following:

Gandhi on 7 deadly sins

When a way of life is focused on the self, where is there an honest love for humanity? God calls us to treat others, the way we want to be treated. To love each other, unconditionally; just as Jesus Christ demonstrated on the Cross, at Calvary. Yet, we see this divide. Why? Would a one time charitable donation, help a child to be provided with the same opportunities that a privileged child will have? Would it help to put food on their table, past one meal? To buy more than one pair of clothes, for their backs? Will it help to heal a broken spirit or heart? No…no…no. For there is only a certain amount of “money” that is needed to live. Yet we have people who strive for extreme wealth, for what reason? To put food on their table? Our stomachs can only take so much food. To put clothes on their backs? We only have 2 hands, to legs, one head, one body to clothe. For a roof over our heads? We only need one to protect us from getting wet in the rain; to keep us warm in the cold; to protect us from the heat. But yet, we see that those who belong here, decide to shield themselves from the poverty in the world. To do their work from a distance, with money; and with no investment of the heart. Power is not in money. God says, His Ways are not of the world; but beyond them. Jesus Christ, as His Son, was the ultimate symbol of unconditional love, through His Salvation of Mankind, through His Selfless Act of dying on the Cross, at Calvary. Though being the Son of God, having the power in one swipe of His Hand to take away all; having every right to pass judgement…did not do so. Instead He chose to walk in our shoes, out of God’s Love and Understanding for us; and to give up His Life to help us conquer what is trying to destroy us. He took on our battle, and won it for us. MONEY is not love. Money is EARTHLY POWER. Jesus Christ did not chose to do His Work, with Earthly Power; but His Life, Death, and Resurrection, showed us Divine Power. Our love for God, should be the dictator in our lives. And God calls for us to live with the earthly circumstances He has given us, to help each other, to understand His Unconditional Love for all. God sees us all equally in His Eyes. Giving us every opportunity to open our eyes to this fact; until when He finally calls for Judgement to be passed, by the One, who earned that Right in His Eyes, for upholding His Will at all earthly costs…Jesus Christ.

Then we have the other extreme. Where there is a lot of poverty in the world. And the poverished see those who have the extreme wealth; and seeing their pleasures, and lack of struggle. They see their temporary moments of happiness, and their false sense of security. And they strive for this false sense of security; at any cost. Thinking that once they achieve it, then they will be able to be at peace. Many who have reached that, have found quite the contrary. Only God, can give us that peace of mind. Only Divinity can give you security. Though they did not “love money”; their main focus and primary goal for their actions was for obtaining money.

Mgandhi on poverty

Through poverty, and wanting to get out of that poverty, many do things out of desperation. However, with our freewill we have the choice to choose, whether to honor God the Father of Creation, and trust in Him, in providing the way out. And there are some who do. However, there are also those who obtain it by breaking His Commandments. How many people have killed for their wealth? How many people have stolen to obtain wealth? How many people have sold their bodies for wealth? How many people have cheated another, for their wealth? How many have taken advantage of someone’s desperation, to obtain their wealth? Or how many people have taken advantage of someone else’s honesty for obtaining their personal wealth? How many remain in relationships, and commit adultery (out of their unhappiness or lack of satisfaction in their partner) for the sake of financial security and stability?

Gandhionthinkingofyouractions

When we take on such attitudes, are these selfless acts? Is there not harm committed to another member of our fellow man? Who are we to decide who deserves such unjust actions to be done towards them or not, to obtain such wealth? Jesus Christ, as the Son of God, while He roamed this Earth, did not do that Himself. So with our sin stained, vulnerable human nature, who are we to determine this? Based on this vulnerability look at what Mankind has chosen with their freewill to exist? It is not God, that is allowing for it to happen. He is giving us the choice for it to exist, or to not exist. He has provided not only the foundation, but also showed us through the earthly example of His Son, Jesus Christ, what is to be expected. Yet we still continue to choose with our freewill otherwise. So when will it stop? God had to reset Mankind so many times. He has shown, those who chose His Ways are the ones, who can stop it permanently. That is the only way. Our sin vulnerable human nature, does not allow for us to do it by our own strength, without Him. This is what World History has consistently demonstrated. Man is not capable on its own to do that; but only with the aid of God, the Father of Creation. Otherwise would we CHOOSE to take such routes in gaining wealth? Would we choose to have goals of obtaining wealth, instead of doing what is right in this world? The Love of Money. Evil created such extremes so that our EMOTIONS, our FIRST INSTINCTS will dominate. To not think, and use our freewill, to choose the ways of God, the Father of Creation. Freewill is what differentiates us from the animals in the wild. Yet, evil is trying to make us to take on the ways of the animals in the wild. God made animals to exist in that way, not Man. To gain, based on “survival of the fittest”. Man was given freewill, to choose a way of life of love and righteousness.  We are not to become secure by the expense of our fellow Man. We are not to enjoy, at the expense of another. We are to love, selflessly, just as Jesus Christ showed us at the Cross.

Actions can be forgiven in the Eyes of God. But often wealth gained by unjust means, have to often be maintained through unjust means. And leaves a heart and soul heavy laden with burden, placed by Evil. Unless one decides to unshackle themselves from this unjustly gained wealth, it will be forever shackled to evil. If we have truly understood that God’s Ways of Divinity are not of the world’s but beyond them, then we would take Jesus Christ’s Example, and continue to conduct ourselves in accordance to God’s Commandments. We will begin to understand that the things of this world are temporary. And that things that God gives, to His Faithful, are permanent. True freedom is not in “living for the moment”, in earthly circumstances. But by knowing that the God you honor with your life, has ways that are beyond that of the world. Mother Teresa says it best here:

“So those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last.”-Matthew 20:16 (PART II)

Matthew2016

You see, when we focus on attaining the things of this world, we are not putting God first in our life. God clearly says that He is not of the world’s ways. When we focus on attaining the things of this world, no matter the reason, this is an opening for evil to grab a foothold into our life, to reshackle us to it. Jesus Christ endured all that He did, to unshackle us from evil. Yeshuay unshackled us from that sin committed in the Garden of Eden, upon His Death on the Cross, for ALL OF MANKIND. This is why Jesus said, “Give up everything, and follow me.” As the Son of God, He knew what God wants of our lives, in order to be able to enter back into the Eternal Paradise. And we have to separate ourselves from the ways of this world, because they are not from God. This understanding or enlightenment can be seen in others who did not practice Christianity. Lets have a further look at this.

Those who have claimed to be enlightened by a divine source, also demonstrated a life to which is similar to what Jesus Christ preached, which is a life, that is devoid of the worldly things, and to become humbled in knowing with each day that we live, we are in the very Presence of the Omnipresent Father of Creation. If we look at the lives of the Dalai Lama, Buddha, Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Sai Baba, etc. (to name a few) they all lead lives that are devoid of the world’s riches and ways, in ways of love, peace, and nonviolence. And their path to seeking Divinity‘s Ways of Life, were the focus of their lives. Yes…nonviolence is very important in Divinity’s Laws of Life and Love. Why? Only the Creator has the right or jurisdiction, to create or destroy the creations. The creation does not have that jurisdiction to do that. This is why Jesus Christ said, in His Sermon on the Mount, “That I have come here to tell you, instead of “eye for an eye”, that you must “turn the other cheek.” When Jesus Christ was being taken away from the Garden of Gesthemane, the night before He was being crucified, by the Roman soldiers, St. Peter, took his sword to defend Jesus Christ from a soldier, and chopped off one of his ears. Jesus scolded him, and condemned for doing such a thing, and healed the soldier of the wound. Violence by any means justified in the wordly sense, is not justified by Divinty.

God sees how far His Beloved Creations have come from the original greatness that He created for them to be. But He says, that those who have truly found Divine Enlightenment, will understand His Ways. Will understand the true value of the worldly ways. This is why Jesus said, “So those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last.” –Matthew 20:16. Because God knows, just as His Son, Jesus Christ endured persecution and ridicule, since the time of His Birth on the earth; that evil will make sure that God’s Divine Laws of Love will be forgotten or never known by the many. But those who do know of it, and have found its true meaning, will not be accepted by the world. In fact, by the world’s parameters, they will be the “last”….they will be the “ridiculed” or least understood. Will not be “accepted” or “suppressed for the truth that they know”. But what Jesus demonstrated on the Cross was, that eventhough He was considered last on this earth….He is first in the Kingdom of Heaven, in God’s Eternal Paradise. That the ways of this world is not what defined Him, but the ways of the Divine Father of Creation. In this, with His SELFLESS SACRIFICIAL act of dying as the salvation for all of Mankind, from evil…He showed that Evil’s ways are temporary. And that God’s Wrath, is permanent.

“So those who are last will be first, and those who are first will be last.”-Matthew 20:16 (PART I)

Matthew2016

This very verse is stated in so many ways, and words by Jesus Christ. These are such powerful words, and often are overlooked by many who profess Love and Peace, as their philosophy. Those who have truly come to adopt Love and Peace, as their ways of life, will understand what God meant, when Jesus Christ ministered these very words to those He encountered. He also demonstrated this through His Own Earthly Life, as the Son of God.

God does say that He is not of the world’s ways, but beyond them. He does not define Himself, by what His Creations determine as being “good” or “bad”. He, as the Creator, determines the parameters and the definition of what is “good” and “bad”. And those who are in tune with the Father of Creation, will also be guided to His definitions of what is good and bad. Just look at how a child is so confident in knowing what is right  and wrong. Things are black and white to them. As the days go by, I sincerely believe that this is how we, as Man, were originally created to be…to know of what is right and wrong. The “gray” area was created by Evil. Evil’s biggest tools are confusion and chaos. God, as the Creator, always provides confidence and certainty. And this is what children display in their knowledge of knowing what is right and wrong. Has the world evolved to such a state, where we, as Man, are now confused, as to what is “right” and “wrong”, according to what God created for this world to be? As seen and described from the times of Adam & Eve, before Satan brought sin to the Garden of Eden, our world was created so that there was a Utopia, and perfect harmony. The world today evolved to its present state….why? Disharmony was introduced into Eden, upon sin being introduced…is the disharmony today, an extension of the 7 mortal sins of  greed, gluttony, lust, pride, sloth, envy, and wrath ? Only God can tell us this, when the His Time comes to rule again on this earth. But God, as the Father of Creation; and Jesus Christ, as His Son, make it very clear that this world’s ways are not of the ways of Divinity…Let’s see how this is demonstrated…..

Let us begin with the Life Example, that the Father of Creation, has demonstrated through His Son, Jesus Christ. As the King of all Kings, and being one of the key members of the Most High Court, Jesus Christ did not live as an earthly king, while roaming the earth. In fact this is how He lived:

1. He was immaculately conceived to an unwed mother. Recent findings say, that Mary was even as young as 12 years old, at the time of conception of the Holy Spirit.

2. He was adopted by Joseph, who became Jesus’ earthly father. Joseph understood Mary’s Mission and his, by taking on such a role.

3. Jesus Christ was not born in a hospital, or in the home of his mother by nursemaids. Because word of the “King of Kings” birth was spreading like wildfire, He was being hunted to be killed. As a result, Joseph and Mary had to flee, and during their journey, Mary had to give birth to Jesus Christ in a barn, where He laid in a Manger, where cows ate their slop and food.

4. He lived humbly learning the trade of His adoptive father, Joseph, carpentry. He did not have a palace…or wear silks. He lived a humble life of the cloth that his mother spun for Him.

5. He roamed from town to town, to share God’s Gospel. He was the Shepard of God’s Lost Children. God, as His Father, guided Him, and always provided SUFFICIENT amounts of thing, in order to live from day to day.

6. He died the death sentence of a criminal. He did not die in what would be considered noble or royal.

7. And even when His Earthly Body was laid to rest, it was not in a royal ceremony; or mausoleum; but in a tomb made of stone.

God went to this extent, to demonstrate through the life and death of His Son, how much earthly definition and parameters did not mean anything to Him, who sits in Heaven. In fact the worldly parameters are not needed to live a life that is pleasing to God, the Father. God has even said, through the teaching of Jesus Christ, that it is not only enough to follow the commandments that have been laid out. We must believe in them so much, as to live it, from day to day. That those that encounter a believer in God’s Love, will feel it so much, as to want to change from their old ways, to those ways that are pleasing to God. Jesus has said this very thing to the rich man that asked him this very thing. Jesus said, “Give up your riches, and follow me.” What did Jesus mean by this? He meant, that God is first in all. And if you believe that God is first, you will believe that He will always provide in sufficient amounts, just as He did for Jesus Christ. Because according the world He first created for Mankind, in the Garden of Eden, we did not need money or power. Man and nature lived in harmony with one another.

(PART II TO COME…)

Gut Feelings = God’s Nudgings/Guidance

psalm 115

Think about every time you had a “gut feeling“, with a particular situation that you were trying to make a decision. Did you follow your gut feeling? Or did you go against it based on rationalizing and intellectualizing the direction towards which your gut was telling you to go? Now think about how many times was it wrong?

When I think of the questions above, I had come to the conclusion that you see with the title of this entry. As I look back on various scenarios and situations in my life, I see that about 99.99999999999% of the time, my gut feelings were CORRECT. Have I always followed them….. NO! This is where “knowledge” can cripple us in following God‘s Will of our lives. Does God’s Divine Logic follow the ways of this world? Does it stay within the boundaries of Human Logic? When has the creation known more or just as much as the Creator? And how does one know that the logic and knowledge that was used to rationalize or intellectualize the gut feeling, was guided from a Divine Source, or from somewhere else? These are all valid things to consider.

However, when one has a relationship with the Creator, that gut feeling that you receive is more in tune with the Will of God. One of the hardest things for any human being to do is to give in to listening to God’s Call or Will of one’s life. It requires, completely letting go, and letting God to take over and steer your life path. How many of us can let go of the reigns of our lives, to an Unseen God? We often like to see, hear, and feel evidence and proof for what we say and do, on this earth. But being able to do this, is where true strength lies, and God’s Rewards in doing so, will surpass anything that this world can offer.  No matter how many times, we as human beings THINK we are steering our own life paths, or destinies, in the end, it is GOD’s WILL of our lives, of this earth, that is ultimately done, based on how we used the freewill he has given us. God truly is an omnipresent being. I have seen evidence of this throughout my life. He also does say that HIS WAYS do not conform to the world’s ways; but ways that are more Divine, and beyond what this world can rationalize and intellectualize.

So how do we tackle the “letting go, and leaving it up to God” situation? Think about it, with anyone that we trust, we so easily entrust our lives, and even in some cases, family to, right? So if we claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, as the Son of God; or for that matter, being God’s Children, should we not do the same, with God? Even in the “Lord’s Prayer“, explained by Jesus Christ as the only prayer needed in one’s life, that explains it ALL , He states within it, “Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come; Thy Will be done….on earth, as it is in Heaven.” Just analyze this for a moment. These are such powerful words.  This is why it is so important to communication with the Father of Creation, everyday. From the first thought of when you wake up each day, to the last thought of when you go to sleep. So that He can guide you for “His Will to be done”. It takes immense strength to give in to God’s Will. It requires to risk giving up all human logic, to follow a Divine Logic, which does not bound itself the earthly realm. It does not require magic or special power to do so. Because we were all created by God, it is innately within all of us. God sees each one of us, equal in His Eyes, giving us different Purposes and life circumstances to achieve, His Will of our lives. But nonetheless, because we are all equal in His Eyes, He has given us all FREEWILL. And with this gift, that He has only given MANKIND, out of all of HIs Creations, we are to tap into His Connection within us, that was innately put in at the time we were conceived in our mother’s wombs; or not to. But does this necessarily equate to having earthly successful lives? As Mother Teresa has once said, “God didn’t call us to be successful; but to be faithful. The fighter, like our Master (Jesus Christ), is pierced and full of pain. He, like Paul, may be bound and beaten, but he remains.” God says, and provides evidence through the Life of Jesus Christ, His Son, and many of the Prophets that He has sent, that HIS WAYS DO NOT CONFORM TO THE WAYS OF THIS WORLD. So why would His Rewards and Blessings conform to the ways of this world? The “blessings” we see; or the earthly rewards we view on our lives, are the life circumstances given to you as God’s Will of your life. At the same time, the trials we face, and the challenges we face, are a part of refining our faith, and bringing us back to our Will for our lives, by God. We have proven over and over again, as human beings that we stray away from God, especially when things seem to be going “right” in the earthly sense. So this is when God’s People may face certain challenges or trials to be reminded of God’s Existence. We always have the CHOICE TO USE OUR FREEWILL TO CHOOSE whether we listen for God’s solution for the situation, or to Evil’s Ways. This will be a lifelong journey.

So coming back to the Title of this entry.

I’m sure all of us would agree that our gut feelings were right 9 out of 10 times, right? Are these gut feelings based on earthly evidence or just a feeling inside? In fact the very reason that many do not follow their gut instincts, is because the option to which it is pointing to, is often beyond logic of the circumstances, right? GOD SAYS HE IS BEYOND THE WORLD’s WAYS; and that HIS WILL IS ALWAYS DONE. So to follow God’s Will of our lives, we must be in tune with God. What does this require? A daily communication with God. And even what does this require? It doesn’t require ceremonies or anything per say. It just requires you to remain in His Holy Words in the Holy Books. Spending time to listen for His Guidance in what He revealed to us in them. And even to at least 1 or 2 minutes, in complete concentration in talking with Him. That’s what it requires.

Famous Sayings of Mother Teresa

Mother Teresa

Be faithful in small things because it is in them that your strength lies.

If you want a love message to be heard, it has got to be sent out. To keep a lamp burning, we have to keep putting oil in it.

Intense love does not measure, it just gives.

Let us not be satisfied with just giving money. Money is not enough, money can be got, but they need your hearts to love them. So, spread your love everywhere you go.

There must be a reason why some people can afford to live well. They must have worked for it. I only feel angry when I see waste. When I see people throwing away things that we could use.
